Students were put to work to better their home school communities Friday for Community Service Day!
Over 900 students representing over 35 Pioneer programs and 14 partner schools volunteered during the event that stretched through four counties! Students participated in various community service projects from painting at schools, cleaning parks, picking up trash and much more. Mayors, Superintendents, Service organizations and many others helped put together the projects.
Pioneer SkillsUSA officers organized and facilitated the event, with the help of a multi school focus group and advisors to put all of the plans together. SkillsUSA is a national organization whose mission is to bring together students, teachers and industry in order to help students excel and to assure that America has a skilled workforce. As part of its mission, SkillsUSA promotes community service.
