Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
This program provides rigorous and relevant technical knowledge and skills that prepare students for a career as a CCMA or further education in the Health Science field. This program provides technical skill instruction that leads to proficiency and demonstrable competency in occupation specific skills. The program focuses on professionalism , safety, employability skills and reasoning skills. Content of course includes but is not limited to professional communication in healthcare, interpersonal skills, ethical and legal considerations and responsibilities, administrative and clinical duties, Heartsaver First Aid & healthcare Provider CPR/AED (BLS), OSHA, HIPAA, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, electrocardiography and phlebotomy. Students will get additional hands-on experience with a required 40 hour externship. Upon successful completion of the course students will be eligible to take the NHA-CCMA exam.
Instruction will be a mix of lecture, skill demonstration and computer simulation. This program requires extensive study of medical terminology, computer usage and business administration. Students will work independently and as team members.

Certification - CCMA from the National Healthcareer Association
Program cost Includes: classroom materials, supplies, cost of OSHA, CPR and First Aid, CCMA examination, and WorkKeys assessments
Program requirements: Must have high school diploma or GED. Students are required to take three WorkKeys assessment tests: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy and Workplace Documents. Students will need black scrub top and bottom, a Two-Step Mantoux TB test within 30 days of class, started the Hepatitus B series, Flu shot and Background Check. All documentation will be needed prior to orientation. .
