Job Summary: Accounting Clerk will assist the Finance Manager and General Accountant to keep financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. Use the company ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software package to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful Accounting Clerk should be already familiar with basic accounting terminology and be eager to learn a variety of accounting processes as relates to a manufacturing environment. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will build on their established understanding of accounting principles, be a team player and work to exceed expectations of both internal and external customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
  • Assist with maintenance of both paper and electronic document filing.
  • Research, track and research accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws

Requirements:

  • Familiarity basic accounting terminology
  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software with a minimum of intermediate Microsoft Excel certification or comparable classwork job experience.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized
  • 1-3 years experience in back office clerical duties

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 /hour
