Fabrication Supervisor

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Supervisor ensures the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Ensures that assigned work areas operate in a pro-active safety focused methodology in compliance with all OSHA and company safety guidelines.

 Understand the set up and operation of all of the machines/welding equipment in the manufacturing area.

 Operate assigned work area in 5S compliant manner.
 Report any defective materials or workmanship to the Quality Manager so corrective action can be taken.
 Oversee inventory organization for completed orders on the shop floor.
 Provide training to shop staff in areas of responsibility.
 Follow production schedule in assigned work areas to satisfy customer requirements per date required.
 Assign staff to work stations and direct key work functions.
 Function as a shift quality inspector, to ensure that company/customer specifications and requirements are satisfied.
 Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

 Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.

 Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.

 Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
 Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation
 Providing ongoing performance feedback to shop staff which includes but not limited to providing ongoing performance coaching; celebrating and rewarding successes and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

 A high school diploma or GED required; advanced education in Brake Press Operation,
Laser cutting, welding, metal fabrication or related field preferred.

 Minimum 3-5 years' related supervisory experience in Fabrication field

Recommended Job skills

 Mig/Tig welding Aluminum and Steel

 Brake press operations, Familiar with Cincinnati and Baykal presses, able to program and work through forming problems

 Able to read and understand Cad and Solid works drawings

 Strong problem solving ability

 Experience in Laser cutting operations

 Knowledge of Union working environment

 Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,386.00 - $60,360.00 per year
