Job Summary:

This internship is a great opportunity for the candidate to gain real world experience in our IT department. You will develop critical skills including time management, planning, communication skills (written/verbal/interpersonal), problem-solving and collaboration skills. The duration of the internship is 4 to 6 months with possible extension until graduation. Expected start date is January 2020 with a completion date that is dependent on business need. Hours per week: 10 (40 during summer hours).. This position is based out of our Mansfield office.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Providing day-to-day handling of business need through SSI’s ticketing system contributing to technical need resolution on site at the Mansfield office facility.
  • Participate in stand-up / morning meetings.
  • Responsible for maintaining the reliability and functionality of software applications by performing updates, fixes, and maintenance as required
  • Assists with all Software Engineering functions.
  • Improve basic functional skills to identify application needs meeting business demand.
  • Understand how software engineering works in resolving issues in Remedy Force (ticketing system).
  • Promptly escalates any unresolved business problems to the next support level providing all information needed for analysis.

Minimum requirements:

  • Current student at university or technical college pursuing Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar field.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Ability to adapt to fluid situations, quick self-learner, and the ability to manage through complexity.
  • Basic familiarity of phone, Laptop/Desktop, keyboards, mice, computing models.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, at times with little supervision.
