Qualifications

Position Summary:
Medical Assistants are instrumental in managing the workflow of the center. It is their responsibility to assist in the management of patients while they are at the center. This may include monitoring the patients while in therapy or in the facility, transporting patients to the pharmacy or other care providers, and managing the patient through there time in the center.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Induction Scheduling & Documentation
  • Physician Appointments and Counseling Appointments
  • Fees for Clinical Services & Testing
  • Entering patient information and scanning documents into the electronic medical record system
  • Scheduling appointments for the patient
  • Ensure the timely collection of patient laboratory specimens consistent with federal and state regulations
  • Manage monthly patient lists for medical testing, including follow-up testing as required by state guidelines
  • Timely review, posting, and dissemination of all laboratory results
  • Track all documents from the laboratory for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare specimens for shipping
  • Assist Medical Professionals in scheduling exams and physicals
  • Complete patient vital signs and health assessments
  • Complete patient TB testing and blood draws (as applicable)
  • Complete TB testing for team members and applicants. Ensure annual team member re-testing is compliant
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of all laboratory supplies
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment
  • Provide input into overall treatment program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care
  • Prepare reports for participation in treatment team meetings
  • Provide consultation to team members regarding lab testing, results, and other relevant patient issues
  • Ensure the maintenance of quality patient care
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with patients
  • Meet attendance standards and be present and ready for work at the beginning of their established workday
  • Report any work-related injury or illness, or workplace hazards or security issues immediately to supervisor
  • Responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local accrediting regulatory agency requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring CLIA Waiver requirements are maintained and communicated to the team member responsible for maintaining treatment center licensure
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Education/Degree: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred
Required Certification/License: None
Required Experience: 0-2 years but 2+ years preferred, Phlebotomy and specimen collection experience preferred.
