QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Welding certification(s) preferred

Ability to read and interpret job orders, prints, and specifications

Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts preferred

Ability to work self-directed

Excellent communication skills with ability to build respectful relationships with customers, suppliers, and Ideal staff

Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, work from ladders/stairs, and lift up to 30 pounds regularly

Ability to use standard office equipment such as phones, PCs, and printers.

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES:

Perform all types of welding, high and low temperature brazing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, torch cutting,

plasma cutting, rolling, braking, nibbling, punching, shearing, and sawing of a variety of parts, castings, forgings,

fabrications, and subassemblies; may perform maintenance welding and tooling welding when required.

Program and operate CNC Oxy-Fuel/Plasma Table

Repair defective welds, cracks, castings, and fabrications

Perform stress stabilizing on parts processed in welding department

Grind defects and over-welds, and remove flux to support the quality of all welds

Perform minor machining tasks including layout, pre-drilling, tapping parts for sub-assemblies

Perform layout on parts processed through the welding department

Order and maintain inventory of parts/supplies (including stock items) as required for welding department processes

Order steel for new jobs, consulting with purchasing to determine amount needed
