The Early Childhood Education program is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in the care and instruction of infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Through hands-on experience and classroom instruction, you’ll work towards earning your Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials, setting a strong foundation for your future in education.

TAKE A 360º TOUR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Create, research, and provide preschool materials that support early childhood development.
Facilitate lesson plans regularly in a state-certified preschool classroom setting.
Prepare young children for kindergarten by using Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Content Standards.

Train in early childhood education and care practices, including:

  • Child Growth, Development, and Observation

  • Communicable Diseases, Health and Safety, Nutrition

  • Lesson Planning, Writing Goals and Objectives, Basic Teaching Skills

  • Child Abuse Laws, Reporting, and Procedures

  • Communication Skills

  • Licensing Laws

  • First Aid/CPR

  • Behavior Management
