The Early Childhood Education program is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in the care and instruction of infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Through hands-on experience and classroom instruction, you’ll work towards earning your Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials, setting a strong foundation for your future in education.
➤ Create, research, and provide preschool materials that support early childhood development.
➤ Facilitate lesson plans regularly in a state-certified preschool classroom setting.
➤ Prepare young children for kindergarten by using Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Content Standards.
Train in early childhood education and care practices, including:
Child Growth, Development, and Observation
Communicable Diseases, Health and Safety, Nutrition
Lesson Planning, Writing Goals and Objectives, Basic Teaching Skills
Child Abuse Laws, Reporting, and Procedures
Communication Skills
Licensing Laws
First Aid/CPR
Behavior Management
